Nails of The Day

Hello everyone :)

My nail varnish today is "270 Cherries in the Snow" from Revlon. It is a gorgeous raspberry colour but it is showing up more red on camera. It only took one coat on my nails to get a nice opaque colour which I have found from most of the Revlon nail varnishes i've tried.

I went with this colour today as the weather in the UK isn't exactly summery!

What are you wearing on your nails today?

Lush Emotional Brilliance Lauch Party

Hello everyone, hope you are well.

Last night I went along to the launch of Lush's new 'Emotional Brilliance' make up line. The collection includes liquid lipsticks, cream eyeshadows, liquid eye liners, mascara, skin tints (highlighter and bronzer) and loose face powder.

There were lots of activities to take part in, bath bomb making, hand massages and being matched against a colour wheel to find our 'Emotional Brilliance'. "Such Fun!" - name that tv show?

I took some photos on my phone of the evening, enjoy...

We were shown how to make bath bombs and got to try it ourselves.

I brought my sister (right) and my chum Louise to join me at the event. (Also, I know Louise will be reading this so Hello :D! )

The Emotional Brilliance colour wheel where we all got matched. You can see me eating some complimetary watermelon here, yum!

The colours that were matched to us, Louise (right) and I. My colours were Fantasy (gold liner), Believe ( a lipstick which I actually bought) and Focus ( a silver eyeshadow).

We were all given a goody bag to take away and this is what I recieved in mine. You can expect to see reviews on some of these soon.

The Emotional Brilliance collection is out in Lush shops and online now. Let me know if you plan to get anything or what you like from lush?

ImPRESS Nails Review

Hello everyone, I hope you are all having a good week :) Today i'm reviewing the ImPRESS nails for you, here are my thoughts...

I purchased mine from Boots for £8.99 I believe but saw that you could also get plain coloured ones are £7.99.

I got the TGIF print, which is an abstract floral design.

The nails come in a few different sizes and you get 24 in a pack so you would get a couple of uses per pack. I do have rather small nails so I did have to file these down to size.

After that the nails are pretty easy to apply, no faffing around with glue, you just simply peel of the tab and press down onto the nail.

The only thing that I didn't like about these nails is that I left my nails medium length and the sticky tab was only the length of my nail bed, causing the nail to gape at the tip. I would recommend that if you have longish nails to file them down quite short to allow the sticky tab to stick to your whole nail.

I must say that they lasted very well and didn't show any signs of peeling off. I kept mine on for 4 days only because the gaping annoyed me too much!

As far as taking them of was concerned, they were surprisingly easy to remove. As the box suggested, I just peeled from the side and they came off without leaving the nails sticky or damaged.

I think they are fun and I got a lot of compliments on them.

I hope this was helpful to you if you are thinking of trying out these nails.

Do you fancy trying these out? Let me know what you think in the comments below.

Beauty Wishlist

Hello :) Today i'm going to be sharing with you my wish list from Feelunique. I do warn you it is a bit of a caudalie lust sesh! Enjoy!

1.  Caudalie Beauty Elixir 100ml

I have had this in the baby (30ml) size and I love it! Now I just need to go for it and buy big mama!!

2.  Caudalie Vinosource S.O.S. Thirst Quenching Serum 30ml

I had a sample of this in my May Glossy Box?...nope, just checked April. Having never tried a serum before I had nothing to compare it to. I just loved what it did to my skin, it made it smooth (but not in that silicone way) and dare I say plump?!

( I told you this was becoming a Caudalie lust fest!)

3.  NUXE Reve de Miel Baume Levres Ultra-Nourrissant Ultra-Nourishing Lip Balm 15g

I have heard great things about this lipbalm being great. I don't know what it is about lipbalms but it doesn't matter how many I have, I always need (well just want) more! This is currently out of stock on feelunique boo! :(

 4.  Jemma Kidd Dewy Glow All Over Radiance Creme 4.25g

I have recently been quite obsessed with highlighters since my skin has been feeling a bit dull. I've tried liquid ones (benefit high beam, girl meets pearl etc) and powders (physicians formula shimmer strips) but I just fancied something inbetween.

I have also been lusting over the Stila 'in the light' palette but that didn't fit into the photo!

Well thats it, short and sweet. Hope you enjoyed this post. What is on your wishlist? Have you tried any of these products? Feel free to comment below.

Bourjois Nail Varnish Remover Review

Hello, hope you are all well! Today i'm reviewing the Bourjois nail varnish remover which I know is nothing new in the blogging world but this is my take on it, enjoy!

I've tried other nail varnish remover 'pots' before with little success. The sponge inside was very thin and would always come loose. The Bourjois one has a thicker sponge (genius!) making taking off your nail varnish a dream.

Now I don't know if i'm the only one who puts off changing their nail colour for a day...or three...longer than I should because of the pain of faffing with cotton wool?

This nail varnish remover also has a lovely scent. Although I do warn you, don't just place your nasals in this little pot willy nilly as you may choke like I did! The scent only appears when dried on the nails. It is described as 'Red fruit & Vanilla' which is pretty accurate and smells delish!

(I have already changed my nail colour twice since trying this 2 days ago, it's great!)

Hope this was helpful, coming up on my blog are reviews on the Bourjois Healthy Mix concealer and imPRESS nails.

Please feel free to comment and follow this blog :)

BM Beauty Mineral Bronzer Review

Hello everyone, I hope you are all well. I'm reviewing the BM bronzer today which I received in my June Glossy box.

summer warmth bronzer
(Image: BM Beauty)

The bronzer is in a mineral form which I have to admit at first I was sceptical about. I'm not usually keen on loose mineral products as I find them quite messy but I thought I may as well give it a go!

When I first saw this bronzer, I have to admit that I wasn't convinced as it looked quite dark and orangey in the jar but when applied it is actually a lovely golden colour.

I would class my skin as on the lighter side of medium so I do have to be quite light handed when applying this bronzer. It has a hint of shimmer which is almost undetectable but just adds a lovely glow. The colour I was sent was 'summer warmth' which is currently the only shade available.

I apply it to my cheek bones, up onto my temples, down my nose and blend it into my neck.

This product may not be suitable for very light skin tones but I think it would make a lovely golden highlight for darker skins.

This product has quickly become a summer staple in my make-up bag!

It retails for £8 for a 4g container at www.bmbeauty.com

I hope you enjoyed this review, what is your favourite bronzer at the moment? Feel free to leave a comment below :)

What's In My Bag

Hello :) I actually first saw this tag on essiebutton's blog which I love to read so I thought I would jump on the bandwagon and do the tag as well.

This in my current handbag, I don't know its brand as I "thrifted" it from a charity shop at the start of this year. I used to carry huge bags but they began to hurt my shoulder too much so I switched to this one. I also love its vintage look and it is a perfect size for everyday. The bag has a shoulder strap which is the way I usually carry it.

Make-up Bag

I think this make up bag is actually a pencil case but i'm using it as makeup bag. It is from accessorize and I believe it is their sale right now. In here I currently have; Barry M coral lip gloss, mini sized Rimmel stay matte foundation, revlon lip butter in Peach Parfait, Relvon photoready concealer, NYC blushable creme stick, Relvon just kissable stain in Honey, mini sized Lancome Hypnose Drama, Fresh SUGAR lip balm and some bobbles.

iPhone

I have the white iPhone 4 with this aztec phone case from eBay.

Purse

This tan leather purse is from White Stuff last year and it is great for me as I love big purses.

Pen

I always carry a pen in my bag with me as I seem to be always write notes or filling in forms and its just handy to have one. This floral one is also from accessorize in their sale.

Orbit Chewing Gum

This is pretty obvious, who doesn't want fresh breath when they are out? I love this spearmint taste!

Compeed

These are a must if you wear uncomfortable shoes a lot, they protect your heals and allow the blisters to heel (excuse the pun).

Keys

Heart keyring from accessorize (slight theme coming out here).

Hand Sanitizer

I got this hand sanitizer from Bath & Body Works while I was holiday and the pink cat case is from there also.

That is it for whats in my bag. I do have to say that as well as all this, I usually find some random bits and bobs lying around in my bag but who doesn't?

Hope you enjoyed reading this, feel free to comment what you keep in your bag!

Love Olivia xx

June Favourites

Hello, I feel like June has gone by so fast! I know everyone says that but I think June has gone by especially quickly. I was in America at the start of June so I've had lots of new products to try and play around with. These are my favourites...

Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque
Image Detail
(Image: Squidoo.com)

I've heard great things about this treatment for your hair so when I saw it on holiday I had to buy it. I have to say I wasn't disappointed! It claims to be for dry/damaged hair which I don't particularly have but it just makes my hair feel so soft and silky as if i've just been to the hairdresser. My hair was needing a cut for a couple of weeks and this definitely helped to bring back some moisture to it which I loved.

Derma V10 Night Cream

(Image: fmcgtrade.com)

I've been using this night cream for a while now and I absolutely love it. I've tried a couple of night creams in the past, some more expensive and some not but none of them did what this one did. It is quite a thick cream which I like for night but sinks in fast and has a lovely clean scent. In the morning my skin in baby soft and the best part is this cream is only 99p! Just for reference, I have oily/normal skin but i've reccomended this cream to people with dry skin and they love it just as much. Such a bargain, and a staple in my skin care.

Essie Nail Varnish

(Image: me!)

I'm aware that Essie isn't a new brand but I'm quite new to Essie. I have a couple more colours but my two current favourites are 'Fun in the gondola' (left) and 'Status Symbol' (right). They go on smoothly and two coats gives a gorgeous opaque colour. They last well without chipping on my nails and i'm really liking them. (I'm wearing 'my private cabana' as I type this).

Revlon Kissable Balm Stains
Image Detail
(Image: makeuptalk.com)

I got a couple of these while on holiday as they aren't out in the UK yet. :( I got 3 shades. Honey - a more wearable pinkish nude, Sweetheart - a true hot pink and Cherish - a bright light pink. I like them alot. They are like a tinted lipbalm when first applied and after an hour or so the lipbalm wears off and you are left with just a stain. They are a lot less drying that normal lipstains beacuse of the balm. The darker shade that I have stays on a bit better but all of the 3 I have are quite long lasting. If you are like me and love having lip colour on but hate having to always re-apply then these are for you.

Thats it for my favourites this month, short and sweet. I hope you enjoyed reading this, what are your favourites for the month of June?
